Luna had brushed her teeth, stacked her books, and tucked Pippin under her chin, but sleep still would not come. The hallway clock ticked like a quiet drum. Outside her window, the moon hung low and bright, as if it were waiting for someone to notice. Luna sat up, pressed her nose to the cool glass, and whispered, "I wish tonight had a secret." She thought about tomorrow's spelling list and the new comic under her pillow, and how sometimes the busiest days left the noisiest nights.
